Central financial assistance of up to ₹78,000 per household is driving residential rooftop demand. A refresher on how the subsidy is calculated.

The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, launched in February 2024, aims to bring rooftop solar to one crore households. Central financial assistance (CFA) is paid on residential systems that use DCR (domestically manufactured) modules.

How the CFA is calculated

  • ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
  • ₹18,000 per kW for additional capacity up to 3 kW
  • Capped at ₹78,000 for systems of 3 kW and above

Applications are made through the national portal and the system must be installed by a registered vendor. Jarvis supplies DCR modules, single-phase on-grid inverters, ACDB/DCDB and earthing kits sized for 1–5 kW homes.
